FROM PUBLIC ENEMY TO SENATOR

Absolution usually comes after the sinner has repented and subjected himself to the penalties of his wrongdoing. However, here in our country, politicians tend to change that fact. Ironically, the people even bear witnessing such crime unfolding on their very midst. A good example would be the case of convicted plunderer Erap Estrada, who threw just about the little “delicadeza” he has left by running for the same position he once shamefully led. Other than Erap, have we given a thought on the shocking display of allegiances between known Communist disciples- Saturnino Ocampo and Liza Maza with one of the state’s oldest Political Party? Logic dictates that Communism and democracy are two conflicting ideas. They simply do not mix, since the success of one means the eradication of the other. But have we really given that sad truth a thought?

Ocampo, the third time Partylist Representative under BAYAN Muna was the former leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) Southern Tagalog guerilla front. In the 1980s, Ocampo led the Communist underground and is among those that ordered the execution of around ten thousand Communist cadres accused of treason. He was part of the CPP-NPA’s AHOS Committee who acted as the sole tribunal for rebels believed to be in cahoots with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Part of Ocampo’s magnum opus inside the CPP leadership was the purging operation done between 1985 till 1989 that included the Oplan Venereal Disease that turned Inopacan, Leyte into CPP’s very own killing field that summed 67 known deaths. Other than Oplan-VD, Ocampo is among those liable for the deaths under Oplans Zombie in Southern Mindanao and Cadena de Amor in Southern Tagalog.

The establishment of BAYAN Muna (BM) in September 25, 1999, more than a year before the May 2001 Partylist Group election had Ocampo surfacing from the dissident rebel army. Being elected president of the “introduced” people’s rights group (BM), Ocampo first laundered his identity. In fact, the brute NPA leader managed to set up a publicly “revered” image of having been one of the country’s fierce activists; an idea brought about by Ocampo’s participation during the EDSA People Power revolt. The Communist Party actually stage-managed Ocampo’s “rebirth” as an activist and his entry inside Congress through BM’s wins during the 2001 elections. Ocampo was able to turn his rebel years obsolete and immaterial as he cowered behind BM’s so-called calm protests.

Ocampo never denied his allegiance to the Communist Party or even refused CPP-NPA-NDF Chair Jose Maria Sison’s unyielding support to BM and to Ocampo’s political career. Obviously, Ocampo’s silence is his admittance. It serves a good alibi to keep the public in the dark. That is, as BM under Ocampo’s leadership continue to acknowledge Communist support that includes fund exchanges.

April of last year, MAKABAYAN (Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan) was launched as the independent political pool that house Ocampo’s senatorial bid alongside Liza Maza. Authorities have uncovered CPP-NPA documentations revealing the rebel group’s 1 billion peso worth of doled-out fund for Ocampo and Maza’s candidacies to include their fielded PLGs. About 50 million of said chunk of rebel fund was allotted for Ocampo alone, enough to fuel his campaign. Have we heard another denial coming from Ocampo’s camp? Else, Joma Sison and the Communist Party carry on with their sweet exchanges of correspondence and show of support to both MAKABAYAN and Ocampo’s candidacy. It is not very likely that a “fierce activist” like Ocampo would choose to keep silent on such a sensitive issue if he was in fact not guilty.

The silent treatment Ocampo is trying to pull is not working on Sison’s dissatisfied rebel army. The objections coming from Communist cadres led by CPP-NPA’s figure head – Benito Tiamzon against the all-out support of the CPP-NPA to Ocampo’s political career is something that cannot be easily shrugged aside. The cynicism on Ocampo’s intentions in politics not only unsettles authorities but also of the CPP-NPA hierarchy itself. Why on earth would the CPP-NPA risk stability of its leadership for someone like Ocampo if he is of no use to Sison’s ultimate plot of redesigning our sovereignty with Communist dictatorship? Why is Ocampo this “influential” inside the Party? Should we really turn a blind eye on his connections with the CPP-NPA who is by far the potential threat against the very democracy that we have valiantly tried to protect?

Anyone can venture in politics. This is all part of the state exercising the fullest extent of democracy. But is it not also true that it is being used by abusive honchos like Ocampo? The public for now is ignoring the threat of Ocampo’s entry inside the Senate or even to his collusion with the Nacionalista Party to gain electoral support. But surely, who in the later end would be wailing for help and screaming foul when democracy is being played on Ocampo’s hands?

Juan dela Cruz’s ignorance is what sustains Ocampo and the CPP-NPA’s willingness to supersede our liberties with their tyrannical ideology and agnostic belief. We revolted the idea of TRAPOs and opportunist bastards milking criminal immunities out of their “positions”, and their money-making tricks with the taxpayer’s money. But have we really done something for our defense against their concerted abuses? We should put an end to this absurdity. State enemies who are guilty of murder and democratic laws’ perfidy are no way fit to claim a seat inside the Senate. Otherwise, our state government would match state prison. And by then, things might just be a little too late for us all.

BM SILENCED ON C5 CONTROVERSY

There is no question that Bayan Muna Rep. Saturnino Ocampo will reserve his silence regarding the C5 Double insertion. His “no comment” stance is already a done deal after signing a so-called merger with Nacionalista Party in exchange that he be invited on the senatorial slate. Imagine the 2 million command vote of BM and Gabriela being collectively sold to buyers like Sen. Villar. These votes being marketed on Villar’s lap is the same exact reason why Ocampo would not move a muscle against the C5 hullabaloo. Ocampo could not simply bite his client’s head-off.

Rights groups colluding with TRAPOs for the sake of higher office best describes how loose morals pollute politics. What is even more alarming is the part where voters simply do not give a damn on whether flip flops continue to enjoy influence or not. Juan dela Cruzes who buy these political gimmicks are the ones to blame. Even the activists inside BM and Gabriela who all claim they are pushing for the people’s will and fighting against political tyranny are not immune to such thievery of ethics. BM members who let Ocampo vend of their votes to the next best political financier are no better than those vote buying enthusiasts in the province. In fact, they are a shameful emblem among the so-called People’s associations.

What sort of change do we expect from these activists turned politicians? They are no different from the TRAPOs they hated before. Who can now tell whether their protests against the administration was not a matter of playing it smart to help the opposition they now align themselves to? What if those anti-Gloria stances were just a “salvo” in preparation for Villar’s presidency? Bayan Muna keeping their distance on the C5 Double insertion on the basis that they are now under Villar’s payroll proves them as “activists for hire”. They are selling their protests for the right amount of cash or position.

Of course Villar’s Php 500,000 worth of doled-out money to Maza and Ocampo’s candidacies was just the tip of iceberg. Negotiations between these parties could not end at such cheap price. The 2 million command vote of BM and Gabriela supersedes that mediocre “paycheck”. In fact other than being adopted inside NP, the two hopeful activists are also promised of cabinet positions if they fail the senateship while Villar becomes the duly elected president. These post-election positions serve as good leverage that would assure Ocampo and Maza’s positions in mainstream government beyond 2010. Quite frankly, this is what Liberal Party bet- Sen. Mar Roxas declined boasting that his Party could swim across victory solely on Cory’s charm; an insult to the capacity of BM and Gabriela who believe they gather a stronghold of the public’s interests minding their Leftist identity.

Juan dela Cruz is not questioning BM and Gabriela’s no-show with regard to the issue of the C5 Double insertion. Reasons behind this “boycott” are nonetheless obvious as Ocampo and Maza brush shoulders on newspaper headlines. Juan dela Cruz is never that dumb. Soon these flip-flops and TRAPO suck-ups will be dealt with; most certainly, “sa kangkungan din sila pupulutin”.

COMMUNIST BOYCOTTS C5 CONTROVERSY

The line-up of Nacionalista Party (NP) is said to be closing their eyes and ears on the Senate’s call to censure NP bet Sen. Manuel Villar over his hand in the C5 Double insertion controversy. These 2010 hopefuls, who are early Villar suck-ups, that include Communist supportive senatoriables like Satur Ocampo and Liza Maza are obviously boycotting the Senate inquest in exchange of continued political favors. The well-financed NP and its “able” machinery that could boost the campaigns of Maza and Ocampo are too valuable that the graft case on Villar is deemed irrelevant.

This is the same mantra of Villar’s minions in the Senate that include Senators Allan Cayetano, Edgardo Angara, Joker Arroyo and Lito Lapid. All five of said senators made a no-show stint last Janury 19th as the Senate opened its quorum on the inquest regarding the C5 funds. Sadly, this is how Villar’s charm reigns among its co-senators. Villar is apparently already enjoying immunity even before getting duly elected. The supposed demigod image of Villar is the very reason why Ocampo and Maza gambled their “names” under his picket despite the sounding disfavor of the public. Absolution in the Philippine politics is made possible by “money”, influence and “charm”; Villar is enjoying this fairly early.

Ocampo and Maza claimed to have been on the streets for the pursuit of people’s interest. They were there during the EDSA Uno revolt that seated former Pres. Cory Aquino in the promise that reform and change of leadership would resolve the sickening extent of political exploitation. But it is no secret that EDSA I remained ineffective, otherwise EDSA Dos and Tres would not have taken place. Something definitely went wrong despite people’s eagerness for reform. And surely, it is because people like Maza and Ocampo continue to exist. Both of them ride on different issues from TRAPO to the next but easily reconciles with those claimed grafters in exchange for favors.

The 2010 elections will serve as the breaking point politics wise. This will bring a new Communist breed inside the state government spearheaded by Maza or Ocampo who have already transformed themselves as TRAPO lapdogs. Quite frankly, their “rights groups” would now swear to protect the best interests of Villar and Nacionalista’s, turning them altogether into “Villar’s rights groups. Inevitably, Bayan Muna (BM) will transform to “Villar Muna”. This newly-formed “VM” would gladly help in sidetracking the investigations on NP’s presidential bet. In time, there will surely be a VM-led picket protests pressuring the government to junk the C5 controversy.

It is disturbing how politics is “fashioned” to fit the interest of every hopeful here in the country; like how TRAPOs laundry their names clean and prey on the vulnerable public. In this array, Maza and Ocampo are the best lab rats and satisfy their long quench for much power. Both of them are a disgrace to the victors of Edsa revolts.

MGA MILITANTE ABUSADO TUWING NAG-RARALLY

Muli nating napatunayan na sadyang delikado ang pakikilahok sa mga kilos protesta lalo na iyung mga inilulunsad ng mga tinatawag na mga militanteng grupo. Noong nakaraang Disyembre 02 sa mismong loob ng University of the Philippines ay muling nagpakita ng labis na pagka-agresibo ang mga kabataang miyembro ng Anakbayan at ilang union members ng UP habang sila ay nagpupumilit na suwagin ang mga nakabarikadang personnel ng PNP na naimbitahan lamang magbigay seguridad sa nakatakdang pagdalaw ni Pangulong Gloria Arroyo sa naturang lugar.

Makikita sa mga video coverage na pinalabas sa mga iba’t-ibang telebisyon na hindi talaga nirerespeto ng mga kabataang aktibista ang mga unipormadong pulis habang pilit nilang winawasak ang mga barikadang nakatayo sa lugar. Dahil sa kanilang naging aksyon ay nagmistulang walang bisa ang mga isyu na kanilang isinisigaw laban sa kasalukuyang administrasyon dahil mas tinutukan pa ng mga taga-pagmasid ang naging hablutan at habulan na nangyari sa pagitan ng mga militante at ng mga pulis. Dahil sa pangyayari ay napapa-iling tuloy ang ilang sektor sa ating lipunan gayung hindi na lamang simpleng pagsigaw-sigaw ng anti-government slogans ang ginagawa ng mga raliyista kung hindi isang tahasang paglabag sa batas dahil harapan nilang binabastos ang mga police authorities. Sa ibang bansa ay agarang pag-aresto at pagkakulong ang katumbas ng isang ganitong aksyon laban sa kanilang mga kapulisan, ngunit dito sa Pilipinas kahit batuhin o di kaya ay murahin ang mga pulis ay sila pa ang napagbibintangan na nagiging marahas. Kung susuriin ang ganitong mga pangyayari na kadalasan nating nakikita sa kalsada tuwing may mga rally ay maiisip tuloy natin na sinasadya na lamang ng mga militante ang pag-atake sa mga pulis upang sila ay gamitan ng dahas at upang sila ay pwersahang damputin at ikulong dahil sa panggugulo at kawalan ng rally permit.

Sa ating bansa ay binibigyang halaga ang tinatawag na freedom of speech pero ito ay kadalasang inaabuso ng mga militante tulad na lamang ng nangyari sa UP at sa kamakailan lamang sa Mendiola kung saan binato pa ng nakalukot na papel si Press Secretary Cerge Remonde na naglakas loob na harapin ang mga nagpro-protestang grupo bilang kaniyang pakikipag-simpatya sa isyu patungkol sa Maguindanao Massacre na kanilang idinadaing.

Nakakalungkot na ganito ang nakikita ng ating kabataan sa kanilang kapwa kabataang militante. Bagama’t mga edukado ay pinakita nila na sila ay walang galang. Marahil ito lamang ang kanilang natututunan sa patuloy na pakikisalamuha sa mga grupo tulad ng Bayan Muna ni Satur Ocampo at iba pang organisasyon tulad nila. Dahil nagiging katumbas ng nga aktibismo ang maling kaugalian ng pagkawalang galang at respeto, maiisip tuloy ng nagmamasid kung may ipinaglalaban pa nga ba ang mga grupong ito o talagang pangugulo lang ang hangarin nila.

OBVIOUS DISAPPOINTMENT IN SENATORIABLES

They initially approached Senator Mar Roxas to get his approval but were pointedly turned down because of an inappropriate proposal. Previous reports disclosed that Bayan Muna Representative Satur Ocampo personally offered to give two million votes to the candidacy of Mar in exchange for five cabinet posts. Next, Ocampo and Maza yet again tried to recover from the rejection by forging an alliance with Senator Manny Villar who initially obliged, but in the end only dropped them in favor of Congressman Bongbong Marcos and his political party, the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL).

An unimpeachable source revealed that the failure of Satur and Gabriela Representative Liza Maza to successfully anchor their name to Villar’s senatorial slate has irked some of the top leaders of the the Makabayan party coalition. Apparently, some of them felt that Satur was not firm enough in his negotiating tactics and has failed to prove his worth to Villar, thus losing the would-be financial backing they could have generated from said presidentiable and even losing the alliances they could have successfully forged with NP’s different political allies in the various provinces, a resource that Makabayan was planning to tap for the victory of their allied party list groups such as Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Act, Courage, Migrante and Katribu.

Instead of preserving the one billion peso campaign fund which Makabayan allotted for the 2010 elections, the split from the NP ranks will now surely deplete the coffer of the party coalition. Instead of securing resources for their political party, Satur was only able to prove that Villar perceives Bongbong Marcos as someone who is more essential to his political plans; despite the promise of a two-million ensured votes from the ranks of Bayan Muna.

This early on, political observers are right to deduce that Satur and Liza will only be nuisance candidates for the 2010 elections. This could be entirely true given that rumors are flying that they are more inclined to accept post-elective posts from presidentiables; a fact that they have been injecting during their regular meetings with various presidential wannabes. Demanding post-elective posts despite not having much to barter with is definitely the work of people like Ocampo. Juan Dela Cruz could only wonder who among our presidentiables would still bite.

OCAMPO FOOLED VILLAR? “NP Senatorial Slate Poisoned by Leftist Stalwarts”

Apparently, the 2-million guaranteed votes that Bayan Muna’s (BM) Satur Ocampo was offering among presidentiables in exchange for a slot at a winning political picket worked on NP standard bearer- Manuel Villar. Since February, sources have said Ocampo had been wooing one presidential candidate to the next to take him in by bargaining his BM members’ votes. It was undoubtedly, BM’s “bureaucratic” prostitution of its members’ rights. That is, as rumors say that majority of the said progressive group opposed the idea of having Ocampo on the senate ascension. This somehow weakened the group’s resolve against partisan politics particularly their stand on steering clear from TRAPOs.

Ironically, the odds of BM joining with Sen. Villar speak of the negatively tolerating landscape of the country’s political arena. This should be an eye opener for the country’s voters who at this time have been continually blinded by the solon’s deceptive façade. Villar, who had been branded a TRAPO and grafter not only by his comrades in the opposition but of the likes of Ocampo and other militant groups, is likely the fitting ingredient that could unmask “politicized” activists such as BM’s senatorial line-up.

For one, Ocampo to include other 2010 senatoriables like Liza Maza and Teddy Casiño have led street protests against supposed malverzation of people’s funds. Villar with his ongoing C5 controversy is part of this “political mess” that militants are trying to pin-down. Their collusion for the sake of bagging seats this coming election gives us a vivid picture of what “flip-flops” like Ocampo could muster in the name of getting an inch closer to the Malacañang. The street fights that these gangs of activists try to pull-off specifically those that lambast officials, who they now suck-up to, are nothing less than a “show”.

The worst case scenario between a lapdog “wanna be” (Ocampo) and a TRAPO wanting to redeem himself by pairing his cards with a former enemy is that the unwary public would have to deal with a blown-out “political gimmickry” that sooner or later will backfire to the expense of the poor Juan dela Cruz. Just imagine how Ocampo managed to channel his BM subordinates’ votes to Villar. This “manhandling” within BM would be extended to the entire state once Ocampo wins this 2010; meaning, 90 million Filipinos would be at his mercy.

What kind of “senator” would he be months from now, when as early as today he is showing how fallible his decisions and loyalty would be? Other than a tyrant, Ocampo who was known to most with his allegiance to the Reds of Joma Sison may have been “expanding” his communist ideals from BM to the Senate floor. Sacrificing 2 million “comrades” to a “pathetic” TRAPO who had been meeting ends to wash his name clean for the elections is just one of Ocampo’s dirty antics. For sure, Ocampo’s political camp-MAKABAYAN or Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan that had doled-out 50 million pesos worth of fund drive for Ocampo could queue-up a lot of detestable gimmicks as the November 20th deadline on candidate registration comes to a close.

It is revolting to witness how Ocampo and Villar have turned themselves into greedy election clowns. It is definitely a no laughing matter.

BAYAN MUNA ABANDONING MANILA STREETS

As floodgates opened and murky water started to sink in across Greater Manila, streets’ avid “borders” like militant activist- Satur Ocampo of Bayan Muna (BM) was nowhere to be found. Not that the flood water pushed him on the seaboard but the distinguished statesman is just not that visible whenever people need his help. The recent calamity weathered by Juan dela Cruz that includes dozens still stuck on their roofs and facing hunger is ironically not a matter to be concerned about for militant activists inside Bayan Muna. However, political stunts that have everything to do with ousting President Arroyo draw them almost every day in the busy city corners screaming their lungs-out for what they claim as “public’s welfare”.

Obviously, typhoon Ondoy kept Ocampo off the streets but was it really of the heavy rain and flooding? Or, was it because Ocampo is not that interested with incidents that have nothing to do with building up his political ambitions? Arguably, state at natural crisis does not push militancy but people clinging on their very lives should stir the “humanity” in him. People who had been parading their raised money for the flood victims are way better than people who curl-up on their comfy homes and do nothing but extend their sympathies.

The issue of pump boat shortage or else the contention on the government’s turtle-pacing rescue operations “disturbingly” interest BM solons. They dwell on the issue long enough to simply agitate the distressed victims of Ondoy and box our viewpoints again on politicking that includes the ever worn-out alibi of “crucifying” GMA.

If this calamity asks Filipinos to look back on their complete disregard of mother earth’s preservation, this also put a stop at bombarding political caboodles that stormed the front pages. We are too fascinated about the nearing elections or to whose campaign jingle would reign superior than others that we have complacently claimed that the then nearing tropical depression would not do the metropolis much damage.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Service Association (PAGASA) or even the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) were both innocent on serious allegations of failure to provide substantive and timely forecast of Ondoy turning into a massively destructive typhoon. Storm signals were raised yet and again and they were all flashed on nationwide tv reports. Sad to admit, the victims are just as guilty as those they blame. But the fault remains among those like Ocampo who “whitewashed” the populace on the delusion that their lives hang at a balance with the elections nearing.

I surely hope that after the metropolis is cleared with the clutter of Ondoy, it remains free from the shadowy outcry of deceptive “reformists”. Ocampo chose to stay distant during this country’s trying times of predicament; he surely deserves to be delisted on my ballot.

REBELS’ EERIE SILENCE IN ONDOY’S MIDST

The normally boisterous activists whom we often see on our streets holding crimson banners and shouting until hoarse anti-government slogans magically disappeared because of a tropical storm like Ondoy. This was the general observation of some residents near rally sites like the House of Representatives along Commonwealth (Batasang Pambansa) on Monday, days after the storm struck majority of Luzon provinces and a big portion of the metro which left more than a hundred dead and caused millions of damages to infrastructure and properties.

Linda Zapanta, a metro-aid cleaner stationed along Commonwealth Avenue admitted to her great disappointment over Bayan Muna and Karapatan’s noticeable absences during search and rescue operations launched in areas heavily affected by Ondoy. In Barangay Bagong Silangan in Quezon City alone which is a mere stone-throw away from Batasang Pambansa, a site often utilized by said groups during their anti-government rallies, 28 people from Bagong Silangan have been confirmed by the National Disaster Coordinating Council as among the hundreds of fatalities of Ondoy.

Bayan Muna which has three incumbent representatives in Congress with each of them receiving more than 50 million in Priority Development Assistance Funds per year has apparently opted to take a back-seat role and relegate all of the hard work to their self-proclaimed nemesis, the AFP and PNP, whose personnel visibly risked their lives to readily jumped into neck-deep murky flood waters in order to save stranded residents from their rooftops. The heroism of the AFP was further proven by the death of two soldiers and five members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit during the conduct of search and rescue operations in the municipality of Famy in Laguna.

Also worth mentioning was the lack of any news report stating that local rebels operating in Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Nueva Ecija have launched even a small kind of assistance to any of our less fortunate kababayans who have fallen victims to Ondoy’s wrath. Their posturing as defenders of the people would have been greatly appreciated by the very people they claim to be champions of if they gave even a small portion of the reported 1 billion peso campaign fund they have amassed since early last year specifically for the upcoming elections. Surely, even ten percent of their collected extortion money that they obtained by force from targeted multi-national companies like Globe Telecom would already be of great assistance to the thousands of victims on Ondoy.

ALL-OUT ANG BENTAHAN NG BOTO SA MAKABAYAN

Matunog na ugong-ugong ngayon ang pagtanggi ni Mar Roxas sa alok ni MAKABAYAN senatorial candidate-Satur Ocampo na 2 milyong boto kapalit ng posisyon sa gabinete at Senate Chairmanships. Ang 2 milyon ding ito na naging daan para mailuklok ang Bayan Muna, Anakpawis at GABRIELA sa Kongreso ang siya ngang binebenta ni Ocampo sa napipintong standard-bearer ng Partido Liberal.

Stratehiya ito ng MAKABAYAN alinsunod na din sa mga naibulgar na dokumento ng Komunistang grupong- CPP. Ang ugnayan ng MAKABAYAN na binuo na din ng mga militanteng Partylist Groups ng bansa sa CPP ay tuluyan na ngang nadiskubre mula nang maglaan ng isang bilyong piso ang Partido Komunista para sa pangangampanya ng mga senatoriables na sina Satur Ocampo, Liza Masa, Rafael Mariano at Teddy Casiño. Liban sa makinaryang pinansiyal na mahuhuthot ng grupo nina Ocampo sa Genuine Opposition (GO), malaking tulong din ang pagbubukas ng mga bakuran nito para makahagip din ng botante mula sa mga tinaguriang masa ni Erap.

Ngunit may garantiya nga bang tutupad sa usapan ang MAKABAYAN? Kung iisipin, nabuo ang MAKABAYAN batay daw sa isinusulong na “No to TRAPOs in Power”. Dahilan dito, hindi maiaalis na pagdudahan ang animo dagling paglilipat-bakod ng mga tinaguriang militanteng grupo tulad ng Bayan Muna sa pwersang GO. TRAPOs din naman kasing maituturing ang karamihan sa mga ito. Stratehiya dala ng paninigurado ang ginagawang pag-aanib pwersa ng MAKABAYAN sa mga partidong politikal na naitampok sa itaas. Ang mga ito kasi, hirap mang aminin, ay may tiyak nang pinanggagalingan ng suporta sa bansa. Isang bagay na kinukulang ang MAKABAYAN.

Ang masama pa, napag usap-usapan na rin ng mga miyembro ng MAKABAYAN at maging ng Partido Komunista ang tahasang pagtalikod sa kasunduang 2 milyong boto. Bagkus, ang apat na senador lamang ng MAKABAYAN ang ilalagda nito sa balota. Ano nga ba naman ang mahihita nina Erap, Roxas at Villar gayong isa lang naman ang mailalatag na presidente ng bawat isa sa 2 milyong botante ng MAKABAYAN. Sa madaling sabi, pain lang ang malaking bilang na ito at tila kasunduang nilagdaan sa tubig ang mangyayari. Liban pa riyan ang napipintong laglagan sa pagitan ng GO para lang ma-ipwesto sina Ocampo.

Ang pagbebenta ng boto o maging ng botante ay lantad na gawain ng TRAPO. Marahil hindi na nga bago ang maduming larong ito sa mga kandidato ng MAKABAYAN bagkus bagay pa na nais nilang palalain. Ang paghahangad nila ng posisyon sa gabinete kapalit ng pagkatalo sa senado ay tulad na rin ng ipinupukol nilang pagbabalak ni Gloria na maupong Kongresista ng Pampanga matapos ang termino nito sa 2010. Malala nga lang ang MAKABAYAN dahil walang pakundangan ito sa panggugulang at panloloko di lang sa mga taga-Oposisyon kundi na rin sa publiko.

SECRETS BEHIND MAKABAYAN’S FLAUNTED SUPPORT

As early as December 2008, the newly created coalition of party list groups made by Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela Women’s Party, Kabataan Party, Act and Courage called Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan or Makabayan has formulated its rules pertaining to the endorsement of a presidentiable in the upcoming 2010 elections.

Knowing that it has significant crowd supporters that can be translated into votes which it has proven in the 2007 elections, Makabayan has been boasting their “electoral asset” to the different presidential aspirants to include giving a pledged of public endorsement to these personalities.

Among those spoken to include Manny Villar, Joseph “Erap” Estrada, Mar Roxas, Ping Lacson, Loren Legarda, Dick Gordon, Bayani Fernando and even Jesus is Lord Movement leader Bro Eddie Villanueva.

During this so-called talks or negotiations, Makabayan members have been asking for financial support – separate contribution for their party list groups’ electoral kitty and for the daily operation of Makabayan as a movement – and are also bargaining for an assured post election position in the winning presidentiable’s cabinet in exchange for votes from their ranks.

However, unbeknownst to the personalities they have spoken to, Makabayan has no intention of seeing through with their end of the bargain as they have no plans of ever publicly endorsing a presidential candidate.

They are merely leading on the presidentiables that they would be publicly endorsed and that they would have assured votes from Makabayan allied groups during the 2010 elections and yet all of these are empty promises.

Aside from making empty promises, Makabayan also plans to attack the winning presidentiable after he or she has successfully positioned himself or herself in Malacañang.

Similar to what they did with then Vice President Gloria Arroyo when they first helped her to be the successor of Erap but after a while withdrew their support when they were not given positions under the then newly installed administration, the Makabayan is also planning to do the very same thing to whoever will be victorious in 2010.

SATUR OCAMPO, TRAPO IN THE MAKING

Finally rumors cracked fact with BAYAN MUNA launching Satur Ocampo’s senatorial bid alongside the Genuine Opposition bloc financed no less by deposed president Joseph “Erap” Estrada and supposed C5-Road “earner” Sen. Manny Villar last May 28th in UP Diliman. As speculated, BAYAN MUNA members are to contend with sufficing Satur Ocampo’s political ambitions by swallowing-in their long-abhorred ERAP together with now graft-riddled VILLAR in exchange for a “funding scheme” that proves vital to finance Ocampo’s early campaigns. Quite frankly, this “gamitan issue” between top brass in the Opposition and the militant groups of Ocampo is nothing but a usual “hobby” amongst TRAPOs in the government. After the “balimbingan” expect to see Satur Ocampo banging the streets once again lobbying against his recent “financier”, Erap.

As the “illegal” campaigns or should we say the indiscriminate campaigning for the 2010 swarm the media even before the candidacies are filed and campaign period are set, Ocampo and peers in the likes of Liza Masa and Teddy Casiño are now busy setting-up dinner-dates with Estrada-controlled solons. In fact, the doled-out half a million peso by Erap during the April 16th pre-launching of Ocampo’s senatorial bid under the political pool MAKABAYAN served no less than a tip among the iceberg of “paychecks”. It is quite possible that the unliquidated funds and ofcourse the laundered millions during the Erap administration happen to what Ocampo and company are now “begging for a share”. Besides, it would be easier for these militants turned “political” stalwarts” wanna-be to play dumb with the idea of having the multi-million plundered money for their campaigns. It is ofcourse simple to deny.

BAYAN MUNA is clearly being substituted by the TRAPOs merging in MAKABAYAN. The “militancy” façade is actually not working for the said partylist group after the voters dropped BAYAN MUNA like a hot potato year 2004. As such, Ocampo is not dumb enough to rely on mere public perspective on activists being rightists; meaning the people trusting activists are ever right and morally correct. The people ofcourse took notice of just what these activists are up to. Had they lived-up to the reform they promise to uphold once they are sworn-in. More or less, Ocampo and others like him are incapable of hiding their flaws no more. Their three-year consecutive terms in the Lower House led to nowhere. Other than orchestrating rallies and gathering minors and paid participants to make a mob for street actions, Ocampo sure had done nothing else but walk-out during legislative proceedings.

If there had been one thing that Ocampo contributed to the current governing body, it would be no less than adding-up on the long list of “Traditional Politicians” whose loyalty stay with the ones that could better provide them of “power”. The alliance of the GO and BAYAN MUNA thru MAKABAYAN is one potential evidence of TRAPO’s age-old “political maneuvering”. Ocampo who would have gorged-out Erap’s lying eyes during the impeachment proceeding is now grooming Erap from head to toe. He has basically changed into another Erap lapdog.

Exploiting the members of GABRIELA, ACT and LFS is among Ocampo’s to-do list. He is out to make sure his “senator-ship” by hook or by crook; even if this means being Erap’s order-around butler.

ERAP, CASIÑO ABSOLVED ME FOR MONEY

Deposed president Erap Estrada found his sins so-called absolution with Teddy Casiño backing his next shot at the presidency. The staunch activist made himself a ‘servant” of Erap in exchange of not less that Php500,000 as an initial pay-off. It had been apparent that Erap won his “salvation” from Casiño in merely half a million peso.

Is not a sign of defeat that BAYAN Muna’s Teddy Casiño knelt-down on convicted plunderer Erap Estrada? Those stalwart enemies are now on locking-arms and even flaunting each others’ company. For the love of politicking and financial machinery, Casiño orders BAYAN Muna members to forcefully swallow Erap down their throats. For the pursuit of Casiño’s political ambitions, BAYAN Muna is to serve the interest of TRAPOs in the Genuine Opposition like chamber maids.

The newly-surfaced political pool-MAKABAYAN that is comprised of BAYAN Muna, GABRIELA, ANAKPAWIS and KABATAAN partylist groups and ofcourse the Genuine Opposition led by both Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay and Erap served as the nook of moral meltdown in the country. MAKABAYAN happens to be the apex of “political maneuvering” that gone from bad to worst. The group that is also campaigning for Casiño’s ascendancy to the Senate by 2010 claims it is anti-TRAPO when in fact it is simply covering-up for the TRAPOs who seemingly pay them millions. Casiño is worse than Erap. Sucking-up with TRAPOs to get into the Senate floor made Casiño the “dirt” shrugged on the rug.

Frankly speaking, Erap testing the presidential waters again despite the respite of the public is to be blamed at Casiño and company who by now traded their militancy to become first-class lapdogs. This made Philippine politics revolting. As EDSA Dos became part of the obviously neglected history, the interest to persecute Erap and the enthusiasm to have the tribunals taking its course died along with it. This was because we let people such as Casiño to dictate us on what and who to believe. We let Casiño speak for us. We let Casiño’s blander and “political speeches” deafen our resolve for what is wrong and fitting. We made Casiño believe that his supposed clout on public perception is enough to have him erring across Erap’s camp, taking adverse and opposing decisions like pushing BAYAN Muna to praise the former’s money and even bending Juan dela Cruz to the limit by supporting the presidency of the man who once abused his authority. Filipinos are not dumb to take-back Erap like his plunder was not an issue. Casiño may have bargained his loyalty for the senate seat, but the masses will think and act differently.

Erap-Casiño tandem for 2010 is what disgusts the public. The far-cry for reform remains elusive as politicking rule 2010. Not the so-called third force or the MAKABAYAN group pushed no less by Casiño and those claiming to be in the “right” are worth people’s trust. Erap is unfit for the presidency. Casiño who thinks otherwise is part of the rotten bunch.

CAN PEOPLE STILL TRUST TEDDY CASIÑO? “After BAYAN colluded with ERAP”

Thousands of other Bayan Muna members are appalled with Teddy Casiño for forcefully making them swallow ERAP for his 2010 senatorial ambition.

After the April 16th secret meeting in UP-Diliman between GO solons and militant officials, Erap was said to have promised millions of financial assistance to Casiño’s senatorial candidacy under PMAP. Apparently, this would also involve the forging of alliance between the ERAP-led UNO and other militant partylist organizations for the upcoming elections. This was an agreement signed and converged by a few and to be suffered by more than a handful of others.

The EDSA DOS was thrown-out the window and even the courts guilty-verdict on ERAP’s plunder was turned by both Ocampo and Casiño into a stockpile of crap. This are what we (Bayan Muna) fear as political maneuvering sucking identified morality rights to the drain. The doings of this two made Bayan Muna into a laughing stock. They made it clear to the public that no one is obviously fighting for what is right and decently just when it comes to gaining the next higher seat. Unfortunately, it is pretty obvious that I, along with those who rallied with them in Edsa Shrine day-in and day-out for ERAP’s ouster was wittingly played at.

No thanks to these solons, politicking had bested them. Those who sweat and hungered as they picketed in EDSA in 2000 were but a bunch of moronic naives. Casiño-Ocampo bandwagon is what constitutes the downfall of Filipino decency. It seemed clearer to us now, that EDSA DOS was not about championing against corruption instead it was simply personal for others to gain public trust and later on abuse it for their benefit.

Bayan Muna was these two’s stepping stone to “political stardom”. And just like how political maneuvering does away with ideologies and loyalty, Ocampo and Casiño disposed of us like worthless rags. They spit at BAYAN’s boldness to strike malpractice as they became UNO Trapo’s lapdogs. Clearly, they gave the perfect act as they clutched-arms with us as whenever rallies take place. Perfect actors! Perfect bastards!

If they could turn their backs these easily against their comrades in BAYAN, who can tell how and just what they could sell-out for a much higher position. If they can’t be trusted as KAMARA Representatives, are the electorates that stupid to again have them exploiting another seat of authority such as the Senate?

The whole moral reformation crap should start within BAYAN Muna since Casiño and Ocampo is clearly losing their grab at sanity and logic as they collude with Erap the convicted plunderer who stayed not a second in prison. People aren’t deaf. They see pretty damn clear, as flip-flops jettison from one camp to another to serve egocentric few.
